You can find the hero's journey in the story the giver. The Giver is about a very advanced community that is very simplistic at the same time is full of complex rules.There are many people in this community one of them named Jonas. Jonas at first is the same as the other kids in the community but after the ceremony o0f twelve everything changes. Jonas has been chosen to be the Receiver of memories. The initiation happenswhen Jonas Recieves His First Memory during one of his classes. he gets visions of a world other than his own.When the creation happens is also when Jonas begins to show noticable changes. The giver is Jonas' mentor throught his entire journey. The Giver over time creates a new Jonas.After all his training Jonas now has a calling. His calling is to let his community know about the outside world. Later as the story goes on he has another calling which is to save another life. This is where Gabriel comes in. When Jonas leaves with Gabriel on his bike. He undoubtedly goes into the abyss which is a mystery to him.
