This paper is on Chucks Hero's Journey. Chuck is a guy who gets lost on a stranded island. At the end he finds his way back home.

His calling was to get back home but the plain blows up taking him on a unexpected deserted island. He didn't have much of a choice so the threshold stage is pertty small. The desent was when the remainder of the plain flew into the water and he landed on the island.

The abyss was when he awoke and found himself on the island. He had to learn how to learn how to survive. His mentor was himself and his past skills. Wilson was more like his best friend so that he wouldn't go crazy. The transformation takes place when he learns how to take advantage of the island. He learns how to make fire, he learns how to fish but most importantly he learns how to get off the the island.

He gets back to his ex-girlfriend and everything is not what he expects, shes with another man. He ends up with her at the end after all the time away.

Chuck completed the whole Hero's Journey but some of the events took very little time. Most of the movie was spent in the mentor and transformation stages. All in all I really like the movie.

Burt's Hero's journey
This paper is about "The Worlds fastest Indian", hero's journey. Its about this guy named Burt Monroe and his motorcycle the "indian". Burts story starts with the separation, wen he leaves New Zealand and his little friend and his girlfriendand go race his indian in the u.s. Well his calling comes when he gets sick and by that he wants to really see what his bike can do, atleast be for he dies. The threshold takes place when his attacks become more intense. Burts decent happens when he really does it and goes to USA and his story begins in california.
Burts initation happens when he starts to make friends and helps them out in any way they can. Thats how slowly he gets accepted by his friends in the us. Well burts abyss is that he doesn't know if his going to complete his dream before he dies. Some of burts mentors, I think would be the Indian, the salvadorian (salesman)and most of all Tina. His transformation starts when he relizes that he reached his goal, he completed his dream, he passed over 200mph in the indian. So he reaches it and is satisfied with the outcome. Then burt becomes more "wiser" or just more crazyer with his next dreams.
I mean a guy like burt to come all this way with a dream and finally make it thats an amazing feeling. Later burt returns to new zealand and see's all his friends. He's very happy with what his done and tells evryone that he did it. Cause no one thought he could do it. The creation of burt comes after hes done his achieves his dream before he died. So he kept on returing to the U.S and setting new dream and new speeds for himself,Making his bike faster and better every year.
This Burts Monroe and his journey threw his dreams and how he completed his dreams. Well I Give pra'ops to the old man, because not many people stick with there goal that long. Threw the years , everyone telling him that he can't do it. He has amazing will power, like they say, thats the stuff dreams are made of.

This paper is about Burt from the Indian movie. I am writing about the stages Burt had to go through to complete his Hero's Journey. I think Burt did complete his journey. He completed it because he actually made it to America and set a new world record. Also by not listening to the doctor's and taking it easy just because he was sick.

I think Burt's Seperation in his journey was when he left his home in New Zealand to go to America. Burt's Calling in this journey was the time trials in the Bonneville Salt Flats. He wanted to go set a new world record. The Threshold in Burt's jouney was when he decided he was going to stay and race instead of leaving just because he didn't sign up. I think Burt's Descent was when he had to find his way around America and get the hang of the ways things worked there. Like when he was driving on the wrong side of the road.

In Burt's journey his Initiation was when he meets the guy from the army trying to find a ride home. I think he was his Initiation because he told Burt he could do it and helped him get to the Bonneville Salt Flats. I thik Burt's Abyss was America. It was America because he was in a place he had never been before and he didn't know how things worked there. Burt's Mentor was Jim and Tina. Jim helped Burt a lot because he helped him get to race. Tina helped by raising money for Burt because he really needed it. I think Burt's Transformation was when he set the new world record.

Burt's Return in his journey was when he made it back to his home in New Zealand safe and unharmed. Burt's Creation was when he set a new world record and became famous. He also went back nine more times to set even more records.

In this paper I explained how Burt completed his Hero's Journey to create a better world for himself. Burt did complete his Hero's Journey because he went all the way to America from New Zealand to set a new world record. He also didn't listen to anyone who said he would never make it. I think Burt did a good thing by not listening to what other people had to say and just going out to set his goal.

The essay you are about to read is about my findings and opinions of a hero's journey. The individual I will describe and talk about is Chuck Noland. I believe he completed a hero's journey and I will say why this is my opinion in the following paragraphs.

The separation in Chuck Nolands' story is when he is parted from human contact due to a terrible tragedy. To me, his calling is his desire to return home to his life, but especially to his wife, whom he loves. The threshold is when he decides not to give up and take his life; instead he chooses to learn to live in a new environment. Going from the plane to the island is his descent in his tragic journey.

Chuck Noland has an inspiring initiation. His initiation is to learn how to survive; to start living in a new way. The abyss, in his case, is the island that he cannot escape, the time just passes and passes. In my opinion Chuck Noland doesn't have a mentor. He is alone and only has himself. He comforts and encourages himself through a ball he calls Wilson. That ball is his only way to talk and somewhat socialize to not go insane. The ball has no thoughts or life to inspire Chuck in any way. The transformation Chuck goes through is simply amazing. He goes from being a businessman to being a wild man that can withstand any condition and situation with the endurance, discipline, strenght, and mentality he has taught himself.

The return of Chuck Noland, I think is simple. His rescue and return is just that, his return. He must adapt to what once was the only way he knew of living. The creation that takes place in this story is incredible. Chuck Noland was forced to live in a completely different world and instead of losing faith and giving up he created another man out of himself. I don't think he even knew what he was truly capable of. His creation was teaching himself to be a whole new person in order to survive.

So there you have the story of Chuck Noland and his fight for sanity and survival. He truly completed a hero's journey. He not only fought mother nature, but he also had to stand against his pessimistic thoughts and need to give up. He won the war and became his own hero. There's no need for more words, this mans' life was clearly a hero's journey.

Burt is an old guy with big dreams. His dream is to go to America and break the land speed record. Burt leaves New Zealand to go to America to break a speed record with his Indian. He leaves behind his key to his shed to the next door neighbor kid, aswell as the care for his chickens and the lemon tree. He arrives to America and encounters several things he's never seen before, like gay men, lots of vehicles, and driving on the right side of the road, but also makes new friends along the way.
Burt gets a taxi and goes to hotel to stay at. The taxi driver drops him of at a hotel and thats were he meets Tina, the gay man. He decides he is not going back tell he breaks the record. The next day he goes out to get a car to get to the track. He buys buys a car and meets up with the mexican salesman whichhelps him make a wagon for his bike.
He starts off his journey to the race track and meets new people that he becomes friends with. On the road he meets up with an indian who gives him something to put in his drinking water so he wouldn't go thirsty. He also spends the night at an old ladies house who gives him a spare of tire.
He arrives at the trackin Nevada where he meets Jim, a guy with a fast cool looking car. Jim helps Burt sign up for he could run his bike on the track. The people thought he wasn't going to go fast but amazedthem with his speed. He breaks the record and is happy for fulfilling his dream.
He goes back to new Zealand with a new land speed record. Later on in his lifehe goes back to America and breaks nine more land speed records.

I am writing about a Hero's Journey, what stages they go through to become a hero. The person that i am writing about is a man named Chuck Noland who got stranded in an island far away from home, for a very long time. He completed all the stages in a hero's journey, in my perspective Chuck Noland is a hero.

The separation is the beginning of any ones journey making decision either if its hard or easy. In Chucks case It was hard for him to go away from town leaving behind his girlfriend which he love very much.Chuck's worked in FedEx his job was to deliver packages. One day he was called from work, they were letting him know that he was to go out of town to Russia to deliver some packages. In the plane he was going to be flying in there were two other guys the flight assistant and the captain. As they flew everything was going great. after a while something wrong happened the plane crashed and fell in the water. The two guys that were in there with Chucks died Chucks Survived.

As he swam to an island close by ,he panicked because he didn't know where he was going or if anyone was going to rescue.Days went by Chuck learned new thing because of course he had to find a way to survive. For food he would catch fish and to drink he would pick out coconuts and make fire with wood to get warm at night. Months later Chucks got use to being in the he became more calm about the situation.

Several years later after surviving on the island Chucks was rescued, and tooken home. As he got home he was happy and excited to see his girlfriend. Not knowing though that his girlfriend was already married to his own dentist. She and everyone esle had thought he was dead so thats why she had gaven up on his love.As she stood there watching Chucks leave Chuck turn to her and drove back to her and got down and kissed her. After all those years there was still love in them. After all the things Chucks went through i think and concider him a Hero.

Chuck Noland experienced an unexpectable journey. Who would've thought that his career and ambition to deliver packages would result in a struggle for survival. It's an incredible journey he would overcome.

The separation is the begining of anyones journey. Having to make the decision of whether to leave or not and if it will turn out for the better in the end. Chuck made that decision when he decided that he would get on that airplane to deliver those packages. His calling was obvious and the desire to improve how fast the packages could be delivered through air would make him put his first step on that airplane.

No one likes stepping into the abyss, not knowing what might happen and not knowing what type of obstecles will interfere with accomplishing your goal. Chuck had no idea that getting on that airplane and leaving his wife would be the last time he would see human civilization for years. The unexpected plane crash, making him land on the island would be one of the major obstecles that he would have to overcome. Finding the package with the ball in which he would name Wilson is an important "mentor" in his life at the time. Wilson is important because he is his only friend on the island;he "encourages" him to keep striving for survival. his transformation is remarkable in my opinion because he landed on the island and had to start his life over. He wasn't specialized or skilled in outdoor survival; it would be impossible for him to survive without the use of everyday utilities. He transformed himself to appreciate life more.

Everyones journey must come to an end. Chucks journey would end when he would get rescued by the ship. Finally his struggle for survival would come to an end. His return home was amazing, he was surrouneded by human by people who cared about him and missed him. He was surrounded by human civilization in which he longed for. His return home meant a new begining and a new life. This journey created a new Chuck. A Chuck that believed that he could accomplish his goals and that an obstecle would not stop him from reaching his destiny. it made him appreciate life.
As you can see Chucks journey was incredible; his endurance and goal for survival became a reality. He didn't let the obstecles interfere with him reaching his destiny of returning home to his beloved wife. All you can do from your journey is learn from it.

Chuck's Journey

My heros journey will be telling you everything that happened to Chuck Noland. This journey happened to Chuck from the movie "Castaway". His Journey was amazing because even after years of satying on an island he still survived. The Separation of Chuck was when he got paged on christmas while he was with his family. The Calling was that he needed to go to work at another country.
His Threshold is that he has to talk to his employees. The Descent is he goes on the plane but doesn't know whats going to happen to him. I think if he would've satyed home none of this would have happened.
His Initiation starts off by going prehistorical and uses whatevers around to ha ve as shelter. The Abyss is when he doesn't know if anybody else is there on the Island with him. His Mentor turns out to be Wilson the volleyball he made look like a persons head. At first Chuck Noland is regular person but becomes a perfect hunter on the Island.
The Return for Chuck is by a lot of people welcoming him and he finds out that his wife got remarried. The Creation for him is that he learns to love again more than ever. He also creates a better person of himself.

Chuck Noland was a manager for FedEx and he completed his journey with flying colors. I think he would've died if he didn't keep faith that one day he would be rescued.

This paper is about the "Hero's Journey". The main person that it is based on or around is myself. I believe that my trip from Reno to Sacramento as well as the stay completes "Hero's Journey". I wouldn't say that it was a hero's journey parse, I would say it was just a journey.

I fell that the separation of the journey would have to be the decision as well as the packing to leave to my home town, Sacramento. The calling for me was that i had a chance to see several of my family members. the threshold would be my physical being standing in the door way of my house with suitcases in hand, on the verge of starting my journey. at first i thought that the descent would be me going down to the Greyhound station, but now that i think about it more and more i see that me actually being on the bus itself on they way to Sacramento better suits the action of the descent more.

setting foot of the bus and starting my journey by walking through the doors of the Sacramento Greyhound station felt like the initiation of my hero's journey. the Abyss would have to be Sacramento because i have been away for too long from the town that means so much to me. My Aunt Rosie, Uncle Jimmy, My Mom, Shannon(moms boyfriend), and Mimi(moms boyfriends sister) would be my mentors because they all have influenced me in many ways. the transformation of my journey would have to be that i realized that everything would be better off if i had listened to my mom in the first place and not complained about rules and other important matters.

the return process of the hero's journal would be when i finally returned my home in Reno. My creation was influenced many points of advice and even my own thoughts. i realize now that one lives once so one shouldn't mess thing up in the long run. i also learned that if you do what you have to, like pleas your parents so they wont have to deal with your mess and problems, then time will go by faster and smoother.

myself is the main person that this essay is based around, this paper also explains my so called hero's journey in stages as well as the events that fallow. whether or not i completed a hero's journey doesn't really matter because of the knowledge i gained from it is of more importance. if i had to chose if i completed one or not, i would say that i did.

This paper is about a man named Chuck Noland. Chuck works for the fed-ex mailing company. Chucks journey starts when he is going to make a mail delivery.
The separation is when Chuck Noland leaves his wife to go make a delivery. The calling is his job because thats the reason he leaves. The threshold is when Chuck gets on the airplane because thats when he decides to leave. The descent is when he gets stuck on the island. I think Chuck was lucky that he survived the plane crash, unfortuanaly he got stranded on an island where he was more likely to die.
The initiation is when Chuck makes Wilson. The abyss is the island because its in the middle of no where and its surrounded by nothing but water. The mentor is Wilson. Wilson kept Chuck company while stuck on the island. The transformation is when Chuck adapts to the island. For example, he learned how to fish and make fire.
The return is when chuck goes back home. He was found by a ship in the middle of the ocean. When Chuck went home, he found out his wife had another boyfriend and a kid with that person. I think the creation is when Chuck gets back with his wife and returns to his normal life.
I thought Chuck wasn't going to survive when he was stuck on the island. Their was no food or good water, and there were a lot of rain storms. Chuck became adapted to the island and thats how he survived. Chuck built a boat out of tree and managed to get off the island. Even though Chuck lost his friends on the plane crash and Wilson, he completed a heroe's journey.

The Hero's Journey is about how a character advances and grows throughout the course of a story. There are ten stages that a character must accomplish in the Hero's Journey. The character that I will be discussing in this essay is Chuck Noland (played by Tom Hanks), the main character from "Castaway." I feel that he has completed the Hero's Journey because he started with a separation from a calling which led him to the threshold were he was thrust into the descent, which was the initiation that consisted of the abyss, gaining a mentor, going through a physical and mental transformation and returning to a creation.
In the beginning of the story, Chuck went through a separation from his home and fiancee. His calling was FedEx flight 88, were he was to accompany the shipment of some packages. The separation and calling being the threshold to what would soon be his five to six year journey. When his plane is torn apart by the storm, he is thrust into the descent as the only surviving member of flight 88; he then ends up stranded on an island for five years. This, in my opinion, is one of the hardest ways to start on the Hero's Journey because Chuck had not intended this journey, it just started as a normal day to day routine for his job, and ended up as a nightmare that would last for five years.
In his initiation, Chuck encounters the abyss, gains his mentor, and goes through a transformation, not only physical, but mental as well. After being thrust into the descent, Chuck enters his abyss, a lone island; here he does everything possible to survive, but his greatest challenge is to find shelter, food, and to create a fire. Most of this he achieves with the items he recovered from the crash, except for the fire. Now comes his mentor; like many civilizations, there is usually a god of some sort, but in Chucks case, his mentor happens to be a volleyball by Wilson, which he names "Wilson." Throughout his five years on the island, Chuck undergoes a transformation; in this stage he becomes more knowledgeable of the island and its inhabitants: What is edible and a shelter that can withstand a tropical storm. Not to mention, lest we forget what shows a man's age better than a beard, and the scars to tell his story of what he has endured.. In my opinion, all of these factors show how he has done on the initiation; he has passed.
Chuck's return is his greatest feat in this journey.; building a raft from trees and vine he gathered from the island, he and Wilson begin their voyage at sea were Chuck is rescued by a passing ship. Chuck returns home to a celebration, but discovers that his fiancee has moved on, married his dentist and had a son, this being the creation. All journeys eventually come to end, whether it be by death or successful completion. But if all one has worked for was for disappointment, but what is the use in completing the journey? From my previous statement, it is clear that it was not chucks intention to be a hero, but to return home to the one he loved; hat was his motivation.
In conclusion, Chuck started his journey, not knowing were it would lead, that his business trip would lead him to Hell, and from it he would become a changed man. But all would be for a price, that he would lose the one he loved to his Dentist. So I believe he has successfully completed the Hero's Journey.

A Hero"s journey is an adventure where a hero has learned a lesson, or has done something for others. Chuck Noland is a character in the movie Cast Away. He was supposed to take a trip, when his plane crashes on an island. The character has trouble leaving the island after so many years. in my opinion, i agree to take the trip, because he didn't think that it would change life forever.

Chuck Noland is seperarted from his home, family, and girl friend. He receives a phone call, saying that needed to go on a trip to delivery packages around christmas. When getting out of the car with his girl friend, he hesitates a little. on the island, he struggles in the beginning to survive. He was brave, and looked at everything surrounding him.

The initiation of the story is when Chuck lands on the island. He had used leaves to start a fire, wood to build a boat, an unopened package as his motavation, and the fish and crab in the water as food. A volly ball named willson was his mentor and his best friend.During the four years, that he was stuck on the island, he started to change color. Chuck was no stronger with wilson by his side.

Chuck Noland is a FedEx system engeineer, who was supposed to take a trip, when his plane crashes. he provided for himself no matter what the situation was. He stayed strong throughout his experience. Chuck Noland created a life life for himself that many people cannot do. H is a hero to him self because he learned how to protect and sopport him self in nature.

Chuck Nolad,A Hero's Journey

A Hero's Journey is completed with many steps. Chuck completed a Hero's Journey because he experienced the steps to a Hero's journey. He had to experience, struggle and accomplish to gain his wisdom.
Chuck's first step into his journey is the separation in which he leaves his home town. The Calling is his job;flight 88 to take order for kids. The threshold is when he decides to get on the plane and leave. The Decent is the real beginning of his journey when he gets to the lonely island and doesn't know whats there or whats coming. The Separation is critical to begin a Hero's journey.
Initiation is when Chuck is beginning to adapt to the environment and situation where he opens the packages from the wreck, at that time he finds Wilson. The Abyss is him being on the island and going into the sea and badly injuring himself. His Mentor in this case is Wilson because he painted a face he actually talked to to keep sane and also had a picture of his girlfriend. his transformation was being able to get food to keep him alive and making rope from tree branches to make a raft. His Initiation shows he preformed his journey.
The Return is when he comes back into civilization and society; when he sees the boat and get him back to dry land. The Creation is all that he has learned in his journey and changing into a different man. He has gained more wisdom and looks at everything differently. He has an experience to tell others to learn from it. He would be looked at to have accomplished greatness.
Chuck and ordinary man with his dream and calling to help kids. he completed a Hero's Journey through a life changing experience. Chuck went through a lot of hardship and gained knowledge to pass on.

Chuck Noland's Hero's Journey

A hero's journey is where the hero has learnt to deal with obstacles in his or her life. Chuck Noland is a systems engineer for FedEx, in the movie Cast Away. I believe that Noland is a hero, because he has survived in nature and found out what he was capable of doing independently.

Noland was separated from the love of his life, Kelly Fears, his comforting home, and his daily routine, when leaving for his trip. He received a phone call during Christmas dinner and had to leave. When exiting the vehicle, he struggles to depart the love of his life. When landing on the island, everything is new to him. This was the start of a dramatic change in his life. Noland was very observatory in his surroundings and used them to better himself.

Noland starts to lose a lot of weight, grows long, unhealthy hair and a beard. He uses wood to make a boat, leaves to start a fire, a water jacket as a cover, a cave as shelter, an unopened package as his motivation, and the fish and crab in the water as his food source. Wilson is the mentor of the movie as well as Noland's best friend. Wilson is a volleyball, that was found in one of the FedEx packages that was discovered floating on the shore. Wilson helped to support Noland in all of his decisions.

Noland was rescued floating in the middle of the island, on the creatively built boat. Returning home, he went back to look for the love of his life, Kelly. He created a life on the island, faced with negative traits such as suicide and starvation. He survived no matter what the situation came about. He never did get the love of his life back, but he was grateful to have his life back in his control.

I have talked about a hero named Chuck Noland, who intended to take a trip when his plane takes an unexpected crash; Leaving him on a remote isolated island to survive for his life. He is considered a true hero in my eyes, because he survived a life that many think is impossible! He did whatever he had to do to provide for himself. Chuck Noland, not only represents a hero, but an archetype of today's society.

Hero's Journey Essay
My paper is about the journey of Fed-Ex Delivery man named Chuck Noland. In my opinion Chuck has completed an entire hero's journey.

The Seperation is when Chuck leaves his wife in Russia to make a delivery. The calling for Chuck is a delivery that is over seas somewhere. The threshold happens to Chuck when he leaves Russia becuase he doesnt want to leave his wife but has to make a delivery. The descent is when Chuck leaves to make a delivery over seas.

The initiation happens when Chuck's plane crashes and he is drifting in the ocean and finds the island. Pretty soon he makes a freind named Wilson. Wilson is somewhat of a mentor to Chuck. The abyss is the island Chuck landed on becuase he does'nt know where he is and he does'nt know how to survive on the island. the transformation begins as soon as Chuck realizes he's on a deserted island and starts to adapt to the island. Chuck has been planning on leaving the island and has started to build him and Wilson a raft.

The return of Chuck Noland is when he finally has enough courage to leave the island. So Chuck and Wilson leave on a crappy raft and are drifting at sea. After a few days at sea Chuck gets discovered by a ginourmous ship and is rescued. Throught the entire journey Chuck has held onto one particular package which has ultimately saved his life. When Chuck finally makes it back the states he decides to return the package to it's owner. Chuck gets lost after making the delivery and stops to look at his roadmap. A woman stops to help him and the movie ends and makes you lead to your own conclusions.

In conclusion, Chuck has been through about as much as you can in foru years. He leaves his wife for his job, his plane crashes in the middle of the ocean, he is stranded on a deserted island for four years and finally gets rescued by a "gynourmous" ship, and to top it off his wife remarries to some dude. Chuck is a hero and has completed a hero's journey.

However, he is ambitions about his work and leaves. On his way there a storm breaks out. Turbulence makes the plane crash in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. At, this point we see Chuck already fighting for life or death. He some how makes it to be the only one that survives the crash. The rest of the crew dies and disappears in the ocean. Chuck made it safely threw a near by island near the accident. As, he looked desperately for supplies and food he began his journey into the unknown island.
As, four years pass he now learned and mastered the basics into surviving. During, the four years he’s been there, he has been going complete insane. Since, he has not socialized with any person. His only friend was a volleyball that he named Wilson. Chuck knew he could not stand to live any longer in the island that way. He would embark his mind into the unknown sea. He knew the only way out of the island was for him to leave, but how would he do it. As the time passed his appearance changed and he knew he had become stronger but also wiser, and he finally had understood why he was still alive and his purpose in this miserable world.
For his return he saw a (port potty) side door one day, and he visualizes how he could use that simple door into his ticket out of that island. He began to measure how long it would take him to build a simple boat. Chuck knew he would have to build it fast because he knew a certain season, would come and he would not be able to leave. The day comes and he sets sail with his friend Wilson. The sea almost made it impossible to make it out of the island. However, they both make it safe. Days pass and he soon realizes that he was fighting for his life again. In his remarkable journey he was saved by a ship at a right times notice.
Chuck made it back to civilization, the journey changed his life completely. Life was not the same when he came back. He soon realized that he would start in a new kind of journey. He found out the women he was doing to get married to was already married and with kids. Is seems that life would start all over with a new begging and a new journey or him. Now, the question into his new journey is what path he would take.

When someones lost they go through very deep, emotional, inside problems and accomplishments through out the journey. The Hero's Journey Chuck went through in Cast Away will be broken down and described in this paper. The hurdles Chuck had to climb over and the accomplishments he obtained in this journey really completed the Hero's Journey in my oppinion.
The separation with Chuck was harsh as he would think later on in the movie. He left his wife and went on a business trip transported by plane. The calling, or the reason he had to go, was because it was a business trip he had to go. The threashold was when he told his wife that he would be back. The decent of his journey was when the plane crashed and he finds an island to live on.
The island gets a little lonely for Chuck so he makes an imaginary friend out of a volleyball that washed up from the plane wreck. He uses his blood to paint a face on it and he calles it Wilson. Wilson is known as the mentor in this ourney because he really helped out Chuck in many ways. The abyss of his journey was the dark, mysterious island he lived on which he knew nothing about. The transformation for him was him understanding that he had to survive and get to know the island he was living on. It was him addapting to his enviornment and getting smater in all types of ways.
The return for Chuck was unreal. He couldn't really believe that he had survived and was in a way shocked. The way he escaped was unreal as well. He made a raft out of logs and sailed for days and days until a ship found him drifting away. When he got to sivilization the only thing that he wanted to do was see his wife, that was the only thing keeping him alive. But he soon found out that his wife mooved on and got a husband. So another part of the return was for him to move on.
Chuck went through many phases in his journey that many people don't recognize when your lost. A heroe's journey changes a person and makes the person smarted and wiser in many ways so that is why chuck has endoured a complete hero's journey because he has changed him in many ways as a person.

Chuck's Journey

Cast Aways Chuck Noland could be consider a hero. He survived years of being on the deserted island. Living off coconuts and water, when it rained. So in some way, yeah he completed a hero's journey.

He had to leave his girlfriend/home for work. Fed Ex (his work) needed him across the country. The threshold could have been him getting on the plane. The plain taking off was the decent I would say. I think he never should have gotten on the plane in the first place, he needed to be with his girlfriend at that moment not at work.
Well the plane suddenly having problems and blowing up, scattering into the ocean was what started the whole thing, it pulled him in it you could say, but the rest was up to him. He floated all night and woke up to a deserted island. Wilson, the volley ball, could have possibly been his mentor, it was himself though because of course Wilson was not real. But I'm sort of leaning towards the thought of getting home, seeing his girlfriend, was what did it mostly. He transformed into a calm guy he was just set on surviving and he wasn't all up tight anymore.
When he got back I would say it had to of been really weird, being away for so long you forget how things are. Its sad that when he got back he met his dentist, which is actually is ex girlfriends husband now, he didn't know that, its like he came back just to get his heart broken. she was all he thought about on the island. I hate how they loved each other but they wouldn't get back together because she was already married and had kids.
So yes he completed a hero's journey. With all that bad stuff happening to him he didn't let it really effect him greatly u know. its cute how the last thing he did was return the package he had found so many years before. Its amazing how he kept it.

Chuck's hero's journey

My essay paper is about Chuck Noland, and the movie that we watch is called caste way. It is about when chuck has a job and his job is a FedEx manager that delivers packages all around the world. That chuck is accomplishing his hero's journey by making the FedEx his good job and he that he gets to delivery the packages very fast and on time.
When chuck is leaving to go and deliver some packages in the airplane and leaves his wife alone just a while. then when he is about to leave his wife gives him something and chuck gives his wife something and it was a picture of her. when chuck is inside the airplane sleeping when there was a big shack and woke him up and he looked outside and there was a big storm. The airplane started to shack a lot and they were in the middle of the ocean and that's when the airplane crashes in the ocean. When he lands on the unknown island and he start es to yell out,"is there any people on this island", when he gets his raft and starts to make his little shed. While he is on the island i think that he might survive because he knows just a little bit about things a what to make.
when chuck makes a Friend that he found and he makes with a ball, with his bloody hand. then chuck finds a name for his friend and he calls him Wilson, so he wont be lonely and some to talk to. chuck finds a porter potty broken piece and when he is making it out of a boat. when chuck is making the things he need so he could build his boat. i think that he is going to make it because he is a smart thinker to build stuff and that he could get past the waves.
when chuck is preparing his self to get in his boat and sail away the island that he stayed there for a long time. when they pass the waves he is trying to get Wilson because he lost him in the ocean and that's when he is all weak and there is a big boat that picks him up and takes him to his home country.
I think that chuck accomplished his journey because he survives in the island and that he builds a boat to get out of the island. In my opinion is that he was a strong guy to survive in the island and on the ocean because he was in the ocean in a long time and that he did not have any ting to drink. So that he got his live back except his wife because she had married another guy and it was his friend and that he finds another girl that he had a package and returns the package to her.

Chuck's Journey

The Hero's Journey is a way to interpret a story or picture. In this case we used the Hero's Journey with the movie Cast Away. A story of a man named Chuck Noland, who works for FedEx and is in a plane crash on his way back to Russia. He gets stuck on an island and goes through many things in order to survive. In my opinion he did complete the Hero's Journey.
During the Christmas holidays, Chuck has to go in a trip to deliver packages to Russia. He doesn't want to leave his girlfriend but chooses to go anyway. While he was on the plane, something went wrong and it crashed into the water. He was the only survivor. He floated to the island on a raft and later used it for shelter.
Surviving on the island was the hardest thing. He had no idea where he was or how to eat or anything. After a day or so all the FedEx packages started to surface, so he fished them out of the water and used them in his survival. He taught himself how to survive with his resources. Before he was on the island he was uptight and stuck to a schedule; While being on the island he changed, he became More laid back. I suppose the only way you can be when you're by yourself.
Over four years later he was finally rescued. They threw him a "welcome back" party with lots of media and food. He looked at the crab and was almost like he was disgusted with it, then tossed it back on the table. His old dentist came in and was explaining to him how he married Chucks girlfriend( now to be ex). After the dentist left Chuck looked out of the window only to see his love trying to go and see him but her new husband would not allow her to do so. Later Chuck went to her house and she cam outside. They talked for awhile. She gave him back his car and he drove off around the corner. He reversed and she ran to him and they kissed in the rain. In a way it was just to close everything but just to let each other know that they still cared for each other as much as the day they he left.
So he did complete the Hero's Journey. Everything bad that could pretty much happen, happened to him. He conquered it all and found his way back to his one true love; Whom he was fighting to stay alive for. Even though she married, she still loved him back.

CHUCK'S HERO'S JOURNEY
The following essay is about how a person is put in a certain situation that can change ur life forever. Either by a dream they want to acomplish or simply by their destiny. The person goes through different stages which are called the hero's journey. This journey is about a man named Chuck, who was stuck in an island for 1500 days. Which in my opinion is a real hero, he went through all the stages of the hero's journey.
The separation for chuck was when he made the choice of getting out of the car and into the plane. The reason he had of going which is the calling was that he wanted to deliver the FedEx packages. The moment Chuck decided to leave was his threashold, beacause he could of stayed instead he left. In Chucks case the descent was when the plane fell, he did not know what was going to happen next.In my opinion what happened to Chuck was just destiny because otherwise if he would of stayed nothing would of happened to him.
Chuck's initiation was when he found himself a mentor, a friend. His name was Wilsonand he was a volleyball. His abyss was that he didn't know what was going to happen to him, wether he was going to be rescued or if he was going to die. His mentor, Wilson helped him even though it was just a volleyball Chuck would talk to him. Then after Chuck understood that in order to get rescued he had to do something himself, and he did he made a raft that was his transformation. I think that Chuck was really brave to get on that raft because he didn't know what could of happen to him.
When Chuck returned everyone was shocked, everyone thought that he had died they even buried him. When he caqme back everything was diffferent he found out that Kelley the love of his life was married and had a daughter. Chuck was very mature and understood that he had lost and just let her go. He understood what had happened and did not try to fight what was done. For me taht was very brave of his part because he let the love of his life go and make a life of her own.
In this paper I talked about Chuck, how he went through all the different stages and at the end he made himself a better person. He went through all different stages that most people don't go through. He stayed alive for the love of his life Kelly only to find out that she was already married. Chuck completed the hero's journey because at the end he changed and he changed for good. I really admire Chuck because he fought for Kelley and at the end he let her go for the happiness of her daughter.
