Chuck's Journey

The Hero's Journey is a way to interpret a story or picture. In this case we used the Hero's Journey with the movie Cast Away. A story of a man named Chuck Noland, who works for FedEx and is in a plane crash on his way back to Russia. He gets stuck on an island and goes through many things in order to survive. In my opinion he did complete the Hero's Journey.
During the Christmas holidays, Chuck has to go in a trip to deliver packages to Russia. He doesn't want to leave his girlfriend but chooses to go anyway. While he was on the plane, something went wrong and it crashed into the water. He was the only survivor. He floated to the island on a raft and later used it for shelter.
Surviving on the island was the hardest thing. He had no idea where he was or how to eat or anything. After a day or so all the FedEx packages started to surface, so he fished them out of the water and used them in his survival. He taught himself how to survive with his resources. Before he was on the island he was uptight and stuck to a schedule; While being on the island he changed, he became More laid back. I suppose the only way you can be when you're by yourself.
Over four years later he was finally rescued. They threw him a "welcome back" party with lots of media and food. He looked at the crab and was almost like he was disgusted with it, then tossed it back on the table. His old dentist came in and was explaining to him how he married Chucks girlfriend( now to be ex). After the dentist left Chuck looked out of the window only to see his love trying to go and see him but her new husband would not allow her to do so. Later Chuck went to her house and she cam outside. They talked for awhile. She gave him back his car and he drove off around the corner. He reversed and she ran to him and they kissed in the rain. In a way it was just to close everything but just to let each other know that they still cared for each other as much as the day they he left.
So he did complete the Hero's Journey. Everything bad that could pretty much happen, happened to him. He conquered it all and found his way back to his one true love; Whom he was fighting to stay alive for. Even though she married, she still loved him back.
