Chuck Nolad,A Hero's Journey

A Hero's Journey is completed with many steps. Chuck completed a Hero's Journey because he experienced the steps to a Hero's journey. He had to experience, struggle and accomplish to gain his wisdom.
Chuck's first step into his journey is the separation in which he leaves his home town. The Calling is his job;flight 88 to take order for kids. The threshold is when he decides to get on the plane and leave. The Decent is the real beginning of his journey when he gets to the lonely island and doesn't know whats there or whats coming. The Separation is critical to begin a Hero's journey.
Initiation is when Chuck is beginning to adapt to the environment and situation where he opens the packages from the wreck, at that time he finds Wilson. The Abyss is him being on the island and going into the sea and badly injuring himself. His Mentor in this case is Wilson because he painted a face he actually talked to to keep sane and also had a picture of his girlfriend. his transformation was being able to get food to keep him alive and making rope from tree branches to make a raft. His Initiation shows he preformed his journey.
The Return is when he comes back into civilization and society; when he sees the boat and get him back to dry land. The Creation is all that he has learned in his journey and changing into a different man. He has gained more wisdom and looks at everything differently. He has an experience to tell others to learn from it. He would be looked at to have accomplished greatness.
Chuck and ordinary man with his dream and calling to help kids. he completed a Hero's Journey through a life changing experience. Chuck went through a lot of hardship and gained knowledge to pass on.
